"Mediation is completely FREE if you qualify for Public Funding (Legal Aid)."

Cost of Mediation

Mediation is completely FREE if you qualify for Legal Aid. The Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting will be free of charge if either you or your partner qualify for Legal Aid, otherwise a charge of £96.00 (including VAT) will be made for the meeting.

All MIAMS will be conducted via Videocall.  If this is not possible a fee of £132 inc VAT will be charged for a face to face appointment in our Lancaster Office.

If you do not qualify for Legal Aid our charges per person for a mediation session are based on a sliding scale according to your income. Charges range from £140.00 plus VAT to £200.00 plus VAT per session.

How long do sessions last?

A mediation session usually lasts from 1 to 1 ½ hours. The number of sessions depends upon the nature and complexity of the issues and the pace at which you need to go.

Click here and follow instructions to see if you qualify for legal aid.  You will need to click start now, family, family mediation and yes to state that you already started with mediation to be able to proceed with the questions.
