Costs & Legal Aid

Mediation is free if you qualify for Legal Aid. At your request, eligibility will be assessed by us prior to your MIAM.

The MIAM appointment lasts approx. 45 minutes.

The Mediation Information and Assessment Meeting will be free of charge if either of you qualify for Legal Aid, otherwise a charge of £100.00 plus VAT will be made per person for an online MIAM.

If you do not qualify for Legal Aid our charges per person for a mediation session are based on a sliding scale according to your income. Charges range from £150.00 plus VAT to £200.00 plus VAT per session.
The fee for the certification of the Court form is £30.00 plus VAT.

Payments can be made directly to the office by debit/credit card payment or by Bank Transfer.

A mediation session usually lasts up to 1½ hours. The number of sessions depends upon the nature and complexity of the issues and the pace at which you need to go.

There is currently a voucher scheme in operation which, if granted, can provide up to £500.00 inc VAT (£250.00 inc VAT per person) towards fees for mediation sessions relating to child arrangements. It only covers session fees not MIAMS, Outcome Notes / Memorandums / Agreed Proposals. The voucher can only be granted once.
