Family mediation is a process in which an independent, professionally trained mediator helps you work out arrangements for children and finances following separation.
Mediation takes place in a confidential and informal setting either online or in person. The mediators are impartial - they do not advise you or represent you individually, but help you to explore the options and ways of reaching an agreement whilst avoiding pressure being put on either of you. They help you to communicate effectively and arrive at practical and sensible solutions.
The mediator will assist in reducing conflict and keeping the focus on the issues you each wish to resolve. Where children are involved, they help you to consider your children’s feelings and needs and communicate with each other as you continue to be parents.
Where appropriate we can offer shuttle mediation where the parties do not see each other during a session.
